Nose thread lift in Singapore
Instant Lift • Natural Collagen • Minimal Downtime
A nose thread lift is a non-surgical treatment that uses dissolvable threads to lift the nose tip and add height to the bridge. One session takes 20-30 minutes, results are visible immediately, and most people return to work the same day.
Summary
- A thread lift is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure using PDO or PLLA threads to gently lift sagging skin and stimulate collagen. It’s commonly used for early to moderate signs of ageing in the cheeks, jawline, brows, and mid-face, offering subtle contouring with minimal downtime.
- Results typically last 12–18 months and can extend up to three years, with maintenance treatments under your doctor’s guidance.
- While thread lifts refresh and support facial contours, they are not a replacement for a surgical facelift.
What is a nose thread lift?
A nose thread lift uses fine, absorbable threads inserted through a small entry point at the tip of the nose. The threads are placed along the bridge and through the tip, then anchored so they hold the tissue in a new position.
The threads dissolve over several months. As they break down, they prompt the body to build collagen along the same line, which is what holds some of the shape after the threads themselves are gone.
It is sometimes called a non-surgical nose lift or non-surgical rhinoplasty. Those names describe the same treatment.
What a nose thread lift can and cannot do
This is worth being clear about before you book, because the treatment has real limits.
It can:
- Lift a drooping or downturned tip
- Add height and a straighter line to the bridge
- Sharpen definition along the bridge
- Improve balance between the nose and the rest of the face
It cannot:
- Make a wide nose narrower
- Remove a significant hump
- Correct a deviated septum or anything affecting breathing
- Fix major asymmetry
- Reduce the size of the nose overall
If your main concern is width, a large hump, or breathing, threads are not the right treatment. Dr Ram will say so at consultation and can discuss what would suit better.
Nose thread lift, nose filler, or rhinoplasty?
Nose thread lift | Nose filler | Surgical rhinoplasty | |
|---|---|---|---|
How it works | Absorbable threads lift and define | Injectable gel adds volume | Surgery reshapes bone and cartilage |
Best for | Tip lift, bridge height and definition | Bridge height, smoothing small dips | Reshaping, reduction, breathing issues |
Results visible | Immediately | Immediately | After swelling settles, months |
How long it lasts | 12 to 18 months | 9 to 12 months | Permanent |
Downtime | Same day back to normal activity | Same day back to normal activity | Weeks |
Reversible | No, but temporary | Yes, dissolvable | No |
Anaesthesia | Numbing cream and local | Numbing cream | General |
Threads and filler are sometimes combined in the same treatment plan, threads for lift and filler for smoothing.
What threads are used?
Two types are used for the nose.
PDO (polydioxanone)
The more commonly used option. PDO threads are stiffer, which suits the nose where structure matters more than softness. They dissolve over roughly 9 to 12 months.
PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid)
Dissolves more slowly, over roughly 12 to 18 months, and stimulates more collagen along the way.
Both are absorbable and both have been used in medicine for years, including as surgical suture material. Dr Ram will recommend which suits your nose and what you want to change.
Areas That Can Be Treated with a Thread Lift
A face thread lift can be used to target specific areas of your face where skin starts to lose firmness or definition.
An eye thread lift can gently lift drooping brows and support the eye area. This helps open up the eyes and reduce heaviness around the upper face, especially in early signs of ageing.
Thread lifts can also be used on the neck to tackle mild skin laxity and early sagging. It helps lift and support the area so the neck looks more defined and feels more balanced with the rest of the face.
Thread lifts are often used to lift sagging cheeks and restore volume in the mid-face area. This helps reduce a tired or flattened appearance and brings back a more lifted facial contour.
A popular treatment area is the jawline. A thread lift helps define your lower face, reduce the appearance of jowls, and create a sharper, more structured profile.
A nose thread lift can subtly refine the shape of the nose. It can also help enhance the nasal bridge and improve overall facial balance without surgery.

What happens during a nose thread lift?
1. Consultation and assessment
Dr Ram examines the shape and structure of your nose, your skin thickness, and how the nose sits against the rest of your face. Thin skin shows thread definition more readily, thick skin holds less lift. He will tell you what is realistic for your nose specifically, and whether threads are the right choice at all. He will also decide which type of thread to use for your nose.
2. Local anaesthetic
A small local anaesthetic injection is given at the entry point. Most people describe it as feeling like an ant bite, and some feel no pain at all during the procedure itself.
3. Thread insertion
A fine needle creates a single entry point at the tip of the nose. The threads are passed along the planned path, either up the bridge or through the tip depending on what is being lifted.
4. Anchoring and shaping
Each thread is anchored so it holds its position. Dr Ram shapes and checks alignment as he goes, working with you sitting up as well as lying down so the result is assessed the way people will actually see it.
5. Final checks
Symmetry, height and tip position are checked before you leave. As there will be some swelling on the day, symmetry cannot be fully assessed straight away. Any small adjustments are made at your review within a month.
The whole appointment takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
How many threads are used?
Nose thread lifts use 4 to 12 threads, depending on what is being treated.
- Bridge only: fewer threads, placed along the midline for height
- Tip only: threads through the tip for lift and projection
- Bridge and tip: more threads, and the two are usually planned together because lifting one changes how the other looks
More threads is not automatically better. Overfilling the nose with threads is one of the more common causes of a stiff or unnatural result.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
You will see a change immediately. The lift is visible as soon as the threads are anchored.
The nose then settles over the following 5-7 days as mild swelling goes down. The final shape is usually clear by one month.
Results typically last 12 to 18 months. The threads dissolve well before that, but the collagen laid down along the thread path holds part of the shape. How long it lasts varies with skin thickness, thread type and individual healing.
Many people repeat the treatment once the effect softens. Repeat treatments are usually straightforward.
Downtime and aftercare
Most people go back to work the same day.
What to expect:
- Mild swelling for 2 to 5 days
- Some bruising at the entry point, usually settling within a week
- A tight or firm feeling in the nose for a week or two
- Slight tenderness when the nose is touched
Aftercare instructions:
- Avoid applying makeup, whitening products, acidic skincare products or exfoliating products directly to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms and strenuous exercise or intense workouts for at least 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for up to 7 days following the treatment.
- Avoid facial or body massages that require you to lie face down for up to 2 weeks, as pressure on the treated area may affect the healing process.
- Do not massage, squeeze, press or attempt to manipulate the nose or threads during the healing period.
- Avoid touching, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated area for at least 24 hours.
Who is suitable for a nose thread lift?
A nose thread lift generally suits adults who want a modest lift to the tip or more height on the bridge, and who are comfortable with a result that is temporary. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or where there is active infection or inflammation on the nose.
You may be a good candidate if you
- Want more height on the bridge or a lifted tip
- Have realistic expectations about what a non-surgical treatment can change
- Prefer a temporary result to a permanent one
- Would rather avoid surgery and its recovery
- Are in generally good health
Threads may not be right if you
- Want a narrower or smaller nose
- Have a prominent hump
- Have breathing difficulty or a deviated septum
- Have very thick nasal skin, which limits how much lift shows
- Have had previous rhinoplasty or nasal surgery, which needs individual assessment
- Have an autoimmune condition, a bleeding disorder, or take blood thinning medication
- Have an active skin infection or breakout on or around the nose
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Suitability is assessed individually. Dr Ram will tell you at consultation if this is not the right treatment for you.
What are the risks of a nose thread lift?
Most side effects are mild and settle on their own. Serious complications are uncommon but possible, and they are worth understanding before you decide.
Common and temporary
- Swelling and bruising
- Tenderness
- A firm or tight sensation
- Redness at the entry point
Less common
- Visible thread outline under the skin, more likely with thin skin or too many threads
- Asymmetry, which sometimes needs adjustment
- Thread extrusion, where a thread end works its way toward the surface
- Infection at the entry point
- A stiff or overcorrected appearance
- Rarely, restricted blood supply to the skin of the nose, which needs prompt medical attention
The risk of a poor result is lower when treatment is performed by a doctor who works in the correct tissue plane, uses an appropriate number of threads, and assesses the nose properly beforehand.
If you notice increasing pain, spreading redness, skin colour changes, or a thread end that becomes visible or palpable, contact the clinic promptly rather than waiting.
How much does a nose thread lift cost in Singapore?
A nose thread lift at Line Aesthetics Clinic costs $900 to $2,400.
Cost depends on which part of the nose is treated:
- Nose tip threadlift, $900
- Nose bridge threadlift, $1,800
- Nose bridge and tip threadlift, $2,400
If both the bridge and the tip are treated in the same session, the combined price applies rather than the two separate prices.
You will get the full cost at consultation before anything goes ahead. There are no separate charges added afterwards.
Why treatment is performed by a doctor
The nose has a dense and variable blood supply, and the margin between the correct tissue plane and the wrong one is small. That is why placement matters more here than in most other thread lift areas.
At Line Aesthetics Clinic, every nose thread lift is performed by Dr Ram Nath. He qualified MBBS in the United Kingdom in 1996 and has worked in aesthetic medicine for over 25 years, opening his first aesthetic practice in 2001.
His thread lift training includes Silhouette Thread Lift certification and a Certificate of Mastery in TESSLIFT. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the United Kingdom and a Board Certified Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. He is a member of the Society of Aesthetic Medicine Singapore and the Singapore Medical Association.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a nose thread lift in Singapore?
At Line Aesthetics Clinic a nose thread lift costs $900 to $2,400 . The final figure depends on how many threads are used and whether you are treating the bridge, the tip or both. You will be given the full cost at consultation.
Is a nose thread lift worth it?
That depends on what you want to change. It is well suited to lifting a drooping tip or adding height to the bridge, and it avoids surgery and its recovery. It will not narrow a wide nose or remove a hump. The results are semi-permanent rather than simply temporary. While the threads gradually dissolve over time, they stimulate collagen formation and tissue remodelling around the treated area. With repeated treatments, this collagen formation may provide progressively longer-lasting structural support and definition.
However, individual results vary, and maintenance treatments may still be required. If you are looking for significant or permanent structural changes to the nose, surgical rhinoplasty may be a more appropriate option.
Why are some surgeons critical of thread lifts?
The main criticisms are that results are temporary compared with surgery, and that outcomes depend heavily on who performs the treatment and how many threads are used. Both are fair points. A thread lift is not a substitute for rhinoplasty and is not presented as one. It is a shorter-term option for people who want a modest change without surgery.

Does a nose thread lift hurt?
Local anaesthetics are used. Most people describe pressure rather than pain. Some tenderness for a few days afterwards is normal.
How long does a nose thread lift last?
Typically 12 to 18 months. The threads dissolve before that, but the collagen formed along the thread path holds part of the shape.
Can a nose thread lift be reversed?
Not in the way filler can be dissolved. Threads are absorbable, so the effect fades on its own. If a thread causes a problem it can sometimes be removed, which is assessed case by case.
Can I have a nose thread lift after rhinoplasty?
Sometimes, but it requires individual assessment. Scar tissue from previous surgery changes how threads sit and how the tissue responds. Tell Dr Ram about any previous nasal surgery at consultation.
When can I wear glasses again?
Avoid resting glasses on the bridge for 7-10 days. Pressure on the bridge during the settling period can affect the result.
